Reinforcing Learning at Home
The children have two elements to their homework at Stalham Academy
All children are expected to:
- learn times tables and spellings in a two-week rotation,
- read a minimum of twice a week.
This provides the foundation of learning in English and Maths. Guidance on how parents can support these activities can be found below.
The second element is optional. There will be a sheet of tasks that are designed to enable the children to practice and develop skills in learning. These include opportunities for research, writing, logical thinking, presentation, and creativity.
There will not be set deadlines, but rewards of merits for completion of quality submissions.
Parents and children can choose to do as little and as much as parents see fit. This allows all families to support learning in a way that is relevant and suitable for all schedules of life outside of school.
